Following the Rules

If I have learned anything, anything at all in this reselling game it is this. You have to post a listing every day, several items if possible. And you have to send out offers on items that anyone has an interest in. When someone buys it without any horse trading its a terrific WIN!! I usually only have this happen on Facebook.

I have really really tried this month. It's a short month, two to three days of selling and listing lopped off. I have listed 73 items so far. Of the 73, as of a few minutes ago, I've sold 12 of them.

As off right this moment I am about 106$ shy of hitting my 1000$ goal. I'm still hustling to make it. 12 hours to go.

Went to the Bins yesterday. That makes three times this week!!! I found some things to sell. Two porcelain dolls, one in a swing, one a music box playing Tychowski from Nutcracker. 7 Live to Ride, ride to live cloth bags, more Xmas ornaments, and hot wheels, Spent 26$. Hope to clear at least 100 from haul.

Top Seller Top Dog

How did this happen? I finally made it to the coveted high air top of the mountain with Ebay. Hooray! My sales on the platform are non existent the past few weeks. When Mercari was flat, Ebay saved me. Now it's the reveres. Facebook marketplace has bottomed out too. Two sales this week. Ebay, only one sale this week. And the Marilyn Monroe Doll is apparently floating around in the quagmire of USPS no man's land. That's 105& Ebay is holding back and I imagine will refund the buyer. Then the package arrives. And I think I'm SOL.

I am still on this learning curve! I have begun to understand the importance of SEO study. I do not have a niche, so it's a big challenge to research every item. Mainly I have just been doing it on the Ebay platform by "selling something like this" and just using or tweeking the original listing.

I have also found out that you can list an item and them choice when you want it to appear. Such as tomorrow at 8pm. Tomorrow at 730am.

These are game changers.

Why did it have to be the Marilyn Doll? Why couldn't it be the 12$ Aski9ng Alexander Tee's?

Murphy's Law at it's finest bite you in the butt.

Sold the Red Poodle! Yay.

Bin Buying and Selling

First Bin Sale since I decided to only Bin Source and sell in March sans the Hays Auction. Sold within 12 hours....

I think this may be very old. It is faux pearls and they are sewn on a silk collar. Ivory. really beautiful and oh so vintage.

Got 15$ . Very Happy.

Went to the Bins today with J and and spent close to two hours. Found a Kawasaki key board for him. How do people over look these things? Or are they just waiting for us? I do believe it was a new bin and I was first there....more or less.

Found a Great Train in one of the bins. Someone had removed all the parts from the package and J and I searched through the bin and found all the cars and the engine!! Even thought he box was torn up, I'm going to sell them by the pieces. I did sell one in December for 80$ Intact.

Also found a bunch of dishes that were heavy but sell by the dish on Ebay, so I grabbed them too.  A few Christmas things, one new and unopened Angel, another a Charlie Brown Xmas tree. Also found a box of The Museum Company with three pieces of jewelry inside. Need to research the pieces, but what a score. I hardly every find jewelry in the bins, but once again I was first at the bin.

Sales very slow. Have only 5 more days to make 250$ more to hit 1000 goal for the month. And here I am, farting away at the blog rather than listing stuff.

Bliss at the Bins

I have found so many marketable things at the bins that the great unwashed (and man oh man some of them truly do need a good wash) over look or have no interest. The Build a Bear is one. I have not sold him yet, but I really haven't tried. I wish I had his outfit.

I went yesterday and the place was bananas. Totally bonkers. Packed to the ceilings. But, I did not feel any anger or frustration. A first, but then again, I just was chilling. Just taking advantage of having someone at the house with J. J. getting much worse. I lay awake at night worried about the situation, him, me. I am trying to really push the resell business (ha!) to dig myself out of debt. Hence this post. Next month I am going to concentrate on everything I find at the BINS.

I found this 1930 pattern from Mirian Martin earlier this week (I have snuck off to the Bins twice this week!!) It is an uncut pattern of a Nightgown and Bed Jacket. The cellophane is cracked and falls apart if you handle it too roughly. Hell, if you handle it at all!I have posted it on all three platforms and on the FB Mkt it has initiated over 400 views and a couple of saves. If I were a seamstress of interested in recreating something sophisticated and simple from the 1930's, I'd be all over this. I also bought up all the 1950 - 1960's cache of Simplicity and McCall's patterns that were in this area. I haven't listed them yet, but like I am inspired to do, I will get them up for March Madness.

I picked up this beauty too. A Henry Pecker Red Leather Poodle with fox fur from 1960's. It is missing the heart charm, but hell it has the chain attached! Someone tried to buy it on FB Mkt but then cancelled. The dog is so precious and so 60's!!

The Madam Alexander Doll Heads I found in the first bin against the far wall! They were with an assortment of arms and legs. I only can surmise that they were in a bag and someone dumped them out then moved on after discarding them. for me to come along right behind them and scoop them up. I at first photographed them on a hot hot pink background and even though it was eye catching, they did not see even with a lot of looks and inquires. I changed the picture and they sold in a few weeks? Within the week?  I still have th arms, legs and torsos. Maybe I need to rephoto too.
I sold the Rawalty shirt this week, maybe last week. what ever I got for it was a great profit as it was only 1.29$ a pound. Even at tripe X it was a good profit.

I found a MMA head gear for practice and sold that here in town a few weeks ago. ++

I found this Porcelain Cutie, Indian Drummer Boy, at the Bins! The bins are a treasure trove that takes patience and imagination. Porcelain does not sell that well but I have managed to move a few Madam Alexander's, a box of 3 dolls w/o boxes (one of my first sales from FB Mkt). It took awhile, but not that long to find him a home. I didn't make much, but heck, at 1.29 a pound?

I found this factory sealed 2002 VHS box of Warbirds yesterday. I know it will take a LONG time to find the right person, but patience is something you must have in this game! I sold a Rae Dunn dog bowl this week and I had it listed for six months. I think I found it the week before the bins closed for covid. I thought Rae Dunn sold well....Pooh.

Will report back.

Dream A Little Dream of Me

Woke up thinking I need to post something about that experience. Hours later (it is my new habit to wake about 5ish) (it is my new habit to get out of bed around 8ish) I only remember telling myself not to be so worked up over the little things.

I dreamed that Bridget and I found a large trach can full of brand new items being discarded. Tennis shoes, new underwear, clothing. I put it all in a huge bag and dragged it down the street to a bus stop then stopped B from trying to examine it during the ride. A yelling match was the out come and a rebuke from me to keep her voice down,. Everyone in the bus staring at us.

Actually, this week had a multitude of highs. G. went to the auction with me on Tuesday. That was fun. I have never been to an auction with a partner except my Mom. It was a bit distracting, but all in all a lot of fun to share with someone your passion. G is s lot more gregarious than I am. She met people, had a lot of conversations and made a few friends.

I, on the other hand, noted all the regulars and the newbies. The Cowgirl, the Braids, the  Greaser, the cute couple, the Throw Mama from the Train.
