Where do you go to be surprised by what is on the shelves that you can flip and make a bundle. It was the Goodwill in C-wood. I found a load of back seamed stockings that I sold to several gentlemen and for 59 cents per package, I made a killing. !! Yes, I loved that. And when I found the five Monster High Dolls from a limited edition offering even without the packaging I sold it for around 100$ Cost to me was about 10$ And the vintage 1930ish Fiesta ware? Sold one piece for 230$ Bought it for 4.99$ Sold another piece for 50 something and donated the 3rd because it had a chip. Sold the 4th piece but the buyer asked for a refund because the lid had a hair line crack in it, which I disclosed but not good enough to his liking. I found some other things there, a Starbucks coffee mug and a vintage Marlboro coffee mug. Found a Canon Rebel DSLR in a camera bag with a diffuser lens for 4.99$ But, it dried up. New management was hired and the place changed. The racks of purses, which I had no interest in since they consisted mainly of Vera Bradley, the loads of toys and dolls, the jewelry jars (found a Tiffney bracelet in a 40$ jar) the shelves of hard goods were all decreased. I have been there three times and have not purchases a thing.
The GW Bins in C-Ville have become a dumping ground for junk. I have heard from a very good authority that the staff are required to bring anything of perceived value to a separate area of the warehouse where it is put on Shop Good Will and not put on the floor for the resellers and the pickers to treasure hunt. Also, the hard goods are DUMPED into the bins without regard to breakage.
I found lot of great stuff at the bins before the change. Now it is mostly junk.
But, another Bins opened in the town across the River. This is a new facility and I have really found some treasures there! I think they are focusing on the clothing and missing out on the hardgoods.
Like today...I found four Fiesta ware coffee mugs in excellent condition. No chips or cracks or chiggers. I fund a Lenox Tea Pot worth conservatively 50 bucks. I found a silver plated jewelry box that is beautiful. I found vintage Pyrex, Fire king and Enesco today. Also some marked MCM glasses and some gorgeous MCM 1960ish dinner plates.
I like this place. My new Honey Hole. I needed it.
