A miracle happened Saturday! It was a simple miracle. I was caught between two auctions. One auction was way out in East Jeff Co. and had a plethora of collectibles such as Lladro and such.I mulled it over, when was the last time I sold a Lladro - last summer, the graduate. Since then I have purchased several of them and have not sold another one. I suppose that ship has sailed. The second auction (live) was in downtown Lou in an old hotel in the homeless section of Broadway and 2nd. It was full of toys, in particular Barbies. I noted the Xmas season is upon us and the "toys" would be a much more advisable auction to attend. So I did. I circled the hotel looking for a parking garage and not finding one (I kept driving by on the one way streets) because I am unfamiliar with parking in this area. I drove into the parking lot and secured a spot immediately my reservation calmed by a security guard on location.
The auction was WONDERFUL. I began with a 7.50$ win of two unboxed bobble heads of Kentucky Derby winners, Secretariat and Smarty Jones. I haven't sold one in awhile, Long tail but they will sell and the cost of goods around 2$ is optimal.
I spent around 160$ and so far have recovered my investment and tripled my money.
Cher $10
Black Label Alfred Hitchcock THE BIRDS $5
Twilight $5
Queen of Heart $5
The Barbie Game $5
Cher sold for $120
Queen of Hearts 50$
The barbie Game 100$
The Birds $200
Twilight $50
I almost passed on the Birds but the auctioneer conjouled me into taking it. Am I ever glad.
October another really bad month on a personal level. My tenant bailed from my property in Florida causing me to pay November lot rent, a deposit on the utilities, and a clean up crew at 35$ an hour.
My car got wrecked by an uninsured driver - my bad. I was remiss in not putting her on the policy. Hind sight is 20-20. My car has been out of commision for a month and should be ready tomorrow. In the meantime I have rented a car for the past 3 weeks and have practically deleted my inheritance for the bill that will come due. The estimate was out of this world!
My washing machine broke down from over use and I do not have a spare dime to call the repair man (hell no, I have auctions to go to!!!). I have been making trips to the laundry mat three times a week because the incontinence problem we have here due to dementia. I should be listing all the other goodies I got at the auction instead of updating. But the good news is the good news..
