Yesterday At The Flea Market and then the Bins

When I have money, it burns a hole in my pocket. Thus, I ventured to the Extraordinary Flea Market over the River and wandered around for awhile. But, too many people there for my liking (I need a booth there! For sure). A good mixture of young and hip, old and decrepit and all in between.  I have to admit, I am slightly intimidated at asking for a booth and a shot at selling to the Super Cool.

I went on line to their web site (on my phone) and began to fill out the application and when I was uploading images so they could have an idea of what stuff I would cram into my booth, I back tracked one too many times and lost all my work. And I just shrugged it off and did not try again. I guess I was relived and think maybe I should try at the Peddler Mall before venturing into a classy venue.

I merrily went over to the Bins.

What the hell is going on at the Bins? It was like all crap. I had to dig and dig and be first at a new bin just put out to snag some good things.

I spent 33$ This is a sample of what I picked up.

A bag of hardware for a chest of drawers - brass

A knock off Coco Chanel purse (I would rather die than pay for a real one)

A UK thermal lunch bag with name written in market - almost have it removed

As many Barbie dolls as I could find for an art idea project

A brand new La Regal evening bag in excellent unused condition

A cascade sting of lights in multi color

A doggie small trash can

Cool Xmas ornaments

Tiger Balm patches

There was a lot of crap. Smelly stuff and clothes mixed in with the hard goods. This was not the normal way the bins were originally set up. Instead of a plethora of hard good bins, they have been reduced to have been reduced to half their size.

Fast forward to the evening. I was shopping at Kroger (best price for Coconut Rum) and ran into a regular at the bins who I am spoken to before. I asked about her booth at the Peddler Mall and found out she was at the Vendor Mall and had just quit. She was tired of it. We talked about the Bins and she said they now have pickers who scrutinize all the crap from the trucks and pick out the best to send to the web site operated in Indianapolis.

That explains a lot.

She also hipped me that they were opening another location in Big L for a second Goodwill Outlet off of a street in the South End. Anything south of Downtown is the South End to me.

Just what I need - another place to spend my money.
