I have a new passion and thy name is resale. I have tooled around with Ebay before, but I don't like it much. I've had very rude people and I just do not want to deal with that. Then I found Mercari. I think I read an article online and I tried it without much success, but here I am again giving it another shot because after all, what else do I have to do.
A lot has happened since I last opened up this memoir (of sorts). Joe's mild cognitive impairment is gaining traction and causing me fits. Perhaps I need to take it more seriously. I could research more aggressive treatment, find clinical trials, drive him to Lexington who has a big treatment facility at UK.
But I am just letting things take their course and rolling with the punches.
I was reading more of less 4 books a week and I have slowed down now that I have the Mercari business to take up time. The fun of it is looking for things to sell. For the cheap.
I found at the Goodwill store two Rae Dunn cat bowls for food and water. I was in the learning curve, I still am in the curve but a little further along now, and bought them for 1.98 plus tax and sold them for 20! But the curve taught me I needed to ask for postage because it ended up costing me my profit!
The other day while digging thru the bins at the local Goodwill Outlet, I found a Wolfgang Puck skillet. It retails for just at $250! I love it. I did not put it on the web site but cleaned it up and am now in 7th heaven using it. Its magic.
While wandering thru the Goodwill hoping to find another Rae Dunn miracle, I found two cast iron pots for $3.99 each which retail for about $80 each. Those I will think about selling maybe on the local Buy Sell and Trade web site because no one will pay the shipping on them...but then again who knows.
My other BIG passion, and some would call it an addiction, are the auction sites. I have three of them that I frequent and one I purchase from on a weekly basis. I have won a pair of Jack Rogers sandals that are barley worn and retail for $128, for 3.50 plus commission and tax and sold immediately for 20 and this time they paid for the sipping.
My last trip to the GW bins brought me a pair of children's boots (retail for approx 90 bucks) a Peyton Manning NFL jersey, a canon digital camera, and a pair of Clark mules. I found a mans hat, never worn, made by a milliner in a small Indiana town that I can not locate. Muller & Muller. Wish I had some info. Please forward to me if you know anything.
I'm so happy. Now if only my sales would pick up.
